Born in 1946 in the USA, Jill's family came to the UK in the 1950s. After Colchester School of Art and the Central School of Art & Design, Jill worked in publishing until becoming freelance. In 1996 Jill decided to concentrate on painting and since then has shown widely in many mixed exhibitions in London and the UK including the RA Summer Exhibition, the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition and the Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Exhibition. She has also had four solo shows in London and Suffolk. Drawing inspiration from her surroundings at home in Islington - the garden, flowers, scraps of material, shells, china and cats, Jill finds it exciting reassembling colour and shapes into her own visual language.
