Dylan Bowen
Ceramics
Dylan Bowen
has been referred to as the ‘action painter’ of British studio ceramics, due to
the gestural application of slips to his ceramic surfaces. He is the son of
noted slipware potter Clive Bowen, and his thrown and handbuilt dishes, plates,
bottles and vases express his love for the soft liquidity of clay, with an
emphasis on spontaneity of throwing, cutting, altering and trailing.
Dylan Bowen studied at Camberwell School of Art and established his ceramics studio at Tackley, Oxfordshire in 2002.
