This exhibition brings together the recent varied and different practices of two artists: Ralph Freeman who works in painting and mixed media reliefs and Alice Freeman who works in sculpture, etching and ceramics. Both are grounded in abstraction and its expression through line and form with the work exploring this idea through different media. This exhibition then celebrates convergence: where different materials, methods and perspectives come together to generate new connections, accidental surprises and where disciplines intersect and become fluid.
Ralph Freeman's show includes oil paintings on canvas from 2025-26, along with "Play It Again" , a series of reliefs and constructions in mixed media, oil and piano key tops.
Ralph's work has been featured in solo and curated exhibitions in the UK, Germany, Italy, Holland and USA. Solo exhibitions have included Tate St Ives, Freud Museum, Gardner Arts Centre, Millennium Gallery, Royal Cornwall Museum, Camden Arts Centre and Campden Gallery.
He was an elected artist member of both the the Newlyn and Penwith Artist Societies, and in 1998 founded the St Ives Jazz Club. Alongside his art practice, Ralph continues to compose and perform as a jazz pianist. He now works from his London Studio.
