Ruth Tomlinson: Baroque Pearl Collection

8 August - 4 September 2026

Ruth's latest collection of one-of-a-kind pieces celebrates the organic beauty of baroque pearls, each chosen for its individuality and unconventional form. Some pearls have been part of Ruth's personal collection for over twenty-five years and held until the right time to transform them. Shaped by nature, baroque pearls are treasured for their "perfectly imperfect" aesthetic with soft lustrous surfaces and irregular silhouettes; no two are exactly alike.

Taking inspiration from ocean treasures and the Cornish coastline, the pieces are an extension of Ruth's signature Encrustations collection. Designed to look as if they were discovered on the seabed and created entirely by nature, soft pastel hues of tourmaline, aquamarine, sapphire and tonal clusters of diamonds accent the pearls' organic forms. Alongside golden barnacle details and gently worn textures, gemstones set at unexpected angles echo treasures found caught between rocks and weathered by the tide.

Honouring Ruth's enduring fascination with raw beauty and the imperfect forms found in nature, each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation. Handcrafted at Ruth's London Atelier, the collection consists of earrings, necklaces and rings made with 100% recycled gold and responsibly sourced gemstones.

More about Ruth's work:

"I am driven by my passion for the earth's treasures; the magic of minutiae, tiny intricacies, small imperfections, and the individual's search for preciousness. I seek out the unconventional beauty within and this fuels my creativity, whether in the rarity of material or a curiosity in nature.

To me, working with such precious materials is a privilege. Each piece of jewellery should be unique, like each of us, and this is how I like the jewellery to make people feel. I hope to evoke a sense of wonder around the work; a modern British classic of the future, handcrafted and ready to be filled with its own story - throughout our lifetime and generations to come."

A graduate of London's prestigious Royal College of Art, Ruth established the brand in 2001 and continues to investigate the unpredictable and push boundaries of perceived preciousness in her critically acclaimed jewellery collections. She is considered by industry experts as one of the leading influences in the current generation of UK jewellery designers, and her unique designs and luxuriously wearable adornments are conceived with the notion of being treasured forever.
