Andrea Walsh

Andrea Walsh is an award-winning Scottish ceramicist whose exquisitely crafted work explores ideas of containment, materiality and value through the sensitive combination of ceramics, glass and precious metals. Creating intimate vessels and sculptural boxes that celebrate the purity and translucency of these ancient materials, her work is held in major public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum and National Museums Scotland. In 2019, her Collection of Contained Boxes was shortlisted for the prestigious LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize.

Alongside her larger sculptural works, Andrea creates jewellery that reflects the same meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful exploration of form. Combining fine bone china, glass and precious metals, each piece possesses a quiet elegance, inviting both touch and close attention. Rather than functioning simply as adornment, her jewellery distils the qualities of her sculptural practice into wearable objects that are tactile, timeless and deeply considered.
