Adam Buick: Cornish Series IV

13 September - 6 November 2025
"I have been showing at the New Craftsman in St.Ives since 2010.  During those years I have visited Cornwall many times and collected materials from its rich geological deposits creating a unique series of works exclusively for the gallery. "

"World renowned for its clay and mineral deposits it is a wonderful place to go prospecting, finding specks of copper in the sand or white clay in the hills. Unlike my home where the use of found materials speaks of an intimate relationship to the landscape I inhabit. The sourcing of materials from the Cornish landscape has helped me develop a deeper relationship with a place I visit."

Internationally recognised ceramicist Adam Buick makes work that is strongly embedded in the subjective study of landscape. From his distinctive large scale Moonjars to groups of miniature pots, his simple, highly tactile ceramic forms are glazed in a palette of natural colours, and incorporate the texture of grit, sand and rocks into their surfaces.
