A hot spring day and the gorse in full bloom, lighting up the fields with its glowing yellow flowers, white hawthorn blossom frothing over the hedges and banks like a bridal bouquet. Stopping for a rest and a drink, we hear the occasional pop as a gorse bud bursts open in the heat.
