Emma Williams
Emma William’s paintings reflect her early career in textile design, through their spacious compositions, flattened perspective, simple motifs and decorative qualities. Cornwall has been a constant source of inspiration, influencing her particular approach to interiors and landscapes, which detail the pretty colours and shapes of life on the West Coast.
Emma was born in 1968. She trained in textile design at Huddersfield University and then worked as a freelance textile designer before becoming a full time artist in 1997. Emma has exhibited widely throughout England and Ireland and her works can be found in many private collections including Norwich Union, Paintings for Hospitals and St James' Hospital, Dublin.
My paintings are textured and always vivid - evoking memories of a time space and mood. My many visits to Cornwall have been a constant source of inspiration, influencing my particular approach to interiors and landscapes. Colour and decorative qualities combined with flattened perspective play an essential role in creating rich images.
