Cristina Zani
Cristina Zani's jewellery is inspired by her fascination with literature, travel and architecture, and her collections are a tangible testimonial of her journeys through cities. Her Seoul series of works is inspired by the architecture of this dazzling oriental city, and her choice of materials, shapes and colours references Seoul's urban mix of sombre, modern buildings and colourful, ancient temples and palaces.
Following a career in corporate communication, Christina completed an MFA in Jewellery at Edinburgh College of Art in June 2012. In 2011 she was awarded a bursary to study jewellery in Seoul for four months. Her present work is influenced by the Korean urban landscape and explores the contrast between modern buildings and ancient temples and palaces of South Korea.
After living and working in several countries, she established her workshop in the Lake District in 2012. In 2016 she moved to Edinburgh where her studio is currently based.
