Paul Feiler was born in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1918. He came to England in 1933 and now lives in West Cornwall. He studied at the Slade from 1938-40 before teaching at the West of England College of Art. Between 1957 and 1963 he executed several murals in public buildings for the architects Yorke, Rosenberg and Mardall. He has exhibited extensively throughout the UK, including Redfern Gallery, Grosvenor Gallery, Warwick Arts Trust, Austin/Desmond Gallery in London, the Arnolfini Gallery in Bristol and the Tate St Ives in 1995 and 2005. He has also been represented in major public institutions throughout the world. These include the Tate Gallery; the Arts Council; the Albertina, Vienna; Toronto Art Gallery, Canada; the National Gallery, Wellington, NZ; Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris; Gallery of Modern Art, Washington DC.
