Janet Leach - A Private Collection
8th September to 5th October 2018

Janet Leach - A Private Collection Available from a private collection, these exemplary pots by maker Janet Leach demonstrate both the influence of her commitment to the Leach Pottery, and her own, powerfully independent creative voice. Noted as the first Western woman to study pottery in Japan, her work is influenced both by Japanese aesthetics and her eye for sculptural form. Janet is celebrated as one of the 20th century's most important potters, and in 1962 she founded the New Craftsman Gallery.
