Hilary Mayo
Hilary Mayo - Ceramic Vessels
23rd May to 29th June 2015

Hilary Mayo - Ceramic Vessels Hilary Mayo's ceramics vessels and sculptural pieces are inspired by fragments of visual memory, and this new collection of works respond to Mayo's recent visit as a volunteer at the Rio de Janeiro Street Child World Cup. Drawn from photographs documenting the Vidigal favela and the notorious 'City of God' suburb, the fragile rims, cracked glazes and imperfections in her work reflect both the poverty of the people who live there, and the beauty that can still be found in the details.

Hilary has just completed the Crafts Council Hothouse programme for emerging makers funded by the Arts Council.
