New Craftsman Gallery 50th Anniversary Exhibition
New Craftsman Gallery, the oldest commercial gallery in St Ives, proudly celebrates its historic 50th Anniversary year.
Established in 1962 by Janet Leach, wife of Bernard Leach, the New Craftsman is regarded as one of the most important spaces for contemporary artists in the town. Having nurtured the reputations of key St Ives School artists such as Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Bryan Winter, Patrick Heron and Peter Lanyon, it continues to showcase original works by emerging and established Cornish artists.
New Craftsman's historic 50th Anniversary event promises to be a unique and inspiring event which will comprise of a huge catalogue of saleable works as well as a handful of works on loan from private collections by many New Craftsman artists of the past 50 years.
The exhibition spans the whole of the gallery from 18th of August - 5th of September and from the 11th of October - 10th of November.
