John Maltby is one of the UKs most respected ceramic artists and has worked with clay for over 50 years. His stylized figures of birds, angels, knights, warriors, horses and other creatures are influenced by the works of Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, Henry Moore and the primitive work of Alfred Wallis. Trained at Goldsmith's College, Maltby has received numerous awards for his work, is a member of the Craftsmen Potters Association of Great Britain and the British Crafts Centre, and is an advisor to the Leach Archive. His work is held in a number of international public collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum London.
